Safe As runs Road Safety community seminars, School presentations, business forums and offers a packaged multimedia kit for sale. The following provides some detailed information on these products.

Multimedia Kit

The DVD kit provides information and recorded presentations from Police, experts and victims about road safety and the trauma when things go wrong. This kit is able to be purchased as a one off or in bulk to get the message across to drivers. It is a great product that will provide an insight into the material covered in the seminars, forums and presentations.

Community Road Safety Seminars

We have now held over 70 road safety seminars throughout regional New South Wales, the ACT and in the Sydney metropolitan area. These are usually held as a result of invitations from local community groups who see the need for increasing the road safety awareness of their local young people and parents and carers. Funding is usually provided by sponsorship from councils, community groups or local business houses. Safe As prefers to hold the seminars in a neutral environment, usually a licensed club, where the young people will feel they are not attending just another school event. The format for the evening is kept simple and concise throughout the two hour agenda. By keeping the subject of road safety simple and direct, we feel the young people find it more interesting. It is important to us that we do not "lecture" in these forums as young people will quickly turn off to that environment. If we speak with them while explaining the key issues of road safety, we feel they are more likely to retain the messages we are presenting.

School Presentations

Increasingly we are being asked to present school road safety talks to students in Years 9-12. We have several schools who regularly invite us back as the feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive. By engaging the students in discussion of the causes of major road trauma we feel they are more likely to accept the important messages presented to them.

Business Road Safety Forums

The diversification into this area resulted from an increasing awareness in some major businesses of the need to keep their drivers (especially apprentices) safe on the road. In regional areas large organizations have many employees travelling large distances to and from work and within their daily duties. Road trauma is potentially more likely to cause major injury to employees than other work related activities. For this reason Safe As are now undertaking forums in house to increase the knowledge base of young drivers about major motor vehicle trauma. Usually running for about three hours we discuss the major causes of motor vehicle crashes and the consequences therefrom along with strategies to stay safe. Comprehensive, bound handouts are presented to each attendee.
